Police official caught for taking Rs 5000 bribe

A sub-inspector was caught by vigilance sleuths today while allegedly accepting Rs 5000 bribe from an accused for closure of a case against him.
Prafulla Kumar Sahu, Sub-inspector of Binjharpur police station in the district, was nabbed by vigilance team for taking a bribe of Rs 5,000 from Rama Chandra Rout of Ranapur to finalise a case that was registered against the latter a couple of days ago, vigilance officials said.
Vigilance team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (Jajpur) Bharat Chandra Sethy nabbed Sahu red-handed while he was taking money from the complainant near Medical Chhak of Jajpur town.
