"The Police Public Mela will be held in Srinagar in the month of September and all police establishment are taking part in the grand event," Additional Director General of Police Headquarters S P Vaid said chairing a meeting here.
The Mela, date of which is yet to be decided, is a grand event being organized by Police Wives Welfare Association (PWWA) since years. However, it could not be held in Srinagar last year due to devastating floods, he said.
He said the Mela have also brought police and public together to work for peace and prosperity of the State.
Vaid asked the officers to start preparations from today and make the arrangements in a befitting manner.
He asked the officers that raffle draw tickets should be made available for the people before one month at all the district headquarters and prominent places in Srinagar and Jammu.
