Police raid possible hideouts of man who killed girl in car

Police are conducting raids at the possible hideouts of a man who had allegedly shot dead his female friend in southwest Delhi's Najafgarh area, and questioning his friends to know his whereabouts.
A 17-year-old girl, who was with her two male friends Shubham and Yogesh, was shot dead on December 20 under mysterious circumstances inside a car by one of them, just outside her house in Najafgarh area.
Shubham is absconding, while the other youth, Yogesh, who was detained, is being questioned, police said today.
Police are questioning Shubham's close friends, even as his mobile phone is switched off, a senior police officer said.
A police team has raided Shubham's ancestral home in Bahadurgarh. His family is also absconding following the incident, he said.
According to police, the girl was a resident of Dipak Vihar locality in Najafgarh area. She was preparing for law entrance exams.

The girl had told her mother that she was going to her friend Nitin's birthday party but went out with Shubham and Yogesh for lunch, the officer said.
When her mother called up Nitin, he said that the girl wasn't there with him. The girl's mother then called Nitin to her house, he said.
Nitin and the girl were in touch over the phone while she was with Shubham and Yogesh. By the time Nitin reached her house, she arrived there with Shubham and Yogesh. On seeing Nitin, Shubham got angry thinking that she had called him, the officer said.
Shubham allegedly shot the girl and fled from the spot. The girl was taken to a hospital where she was declared brought dead, police said, adding the gun used to shoot the girl was owned by Yogesh.
