The DDE was done at Rori police station after reports from the Assistant Returning Officer of Kalanwali and the Media Certification and Monitoring Committee on Tanwar's wife Avantika's reported remarks made at a meeting at Surtia village in Kalanwali Assembly segment of Sirsa on March 24.
The police have concluded that a case is made out under IPC section 171-B for allegedly "exercising undue influence on voters", and have sought opinion of the Assistant District Attorney and the district Superintendent of Police before proceeding further in the matter.
Avantika reportedly said, "The previous Deputy Commissioner was bad. He did not listen to us. There used to be fights daily. Had also stopped telephoning him (Tanwar). I made a complaint to Deepender (MP son of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda) saying that our works were not being done. After that the DC was changed."
"Naya wala DC darta hai, ab aapke kaam honge (The new DC is afraid, now your works will be done)," she added.
