The deceased has been identified as Abhijit Kumar (25) of Horla village. He was an employee of a hotel at Karigaon More, SHO Awadhesh Kumar said.
The 25-year-old's relatives have expressed apprehension that Kumar died after being beaten up by the hotel owner, the SHO said, adding that it was difficult to give more details as of now as the case was still under investigation.
Soon after the incident, local people blocked NH-31 with Abhijit's body, demanding adequate compensation for the family and immediate arrest of those accused in the case, the SHO said.
