Police today recovered decomposed bodies of an elderly tribal couple at Deunchapada village in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district.
The police found poison near the bodies and seized it, said Krushna Chandra Palei inspector-in-charge of Baisinga Police station.
The tribal couple was suspected to have committed suicide by consuming poison, police said.
The deceased couple was identified as Samaya Sing (65) and Sumi Sing (60). They were issueless and staying at an Indira Awas Yojana house.
Local people said poverty could be the reason behind the suicide.
Postmortem of bodies was conducted in PRM Medical college and Hospital here, police added.
