"Police seized cache of explosives from a forest area of Tapnapur village under Rengakhar station limits," Kabirdham SP Rahul Bhagat told PTI.
"Acting on a tip off, a police team searched the forest area and found six land mines, four detonators, gun powder, wire and other material from three different places," the SP said.
He said the places from where explosives were unearthed abut the naxal-affected Balaghat district of neighbouring Madhya Pradesh.
Bhagat said the recovery of explosives is a fallout of a special drive being run by police to reach out to villagers.
Rajnandgaon, the neighbouring district of Kabirdham, is one of the most naxal-affected districts in the state.
