"Few days ago, Mohammed Iqbal, a resident of Larkuti village, had reported that his 12-year-old son Mohammad Rouf who had gone to graze his cattle in the nearby forest did not return," a senior police officer said.
He said police along with Army launched a search operation in the area and on Sunday afternoon recovered the body of the missing boy hidden under dry grass.
"During the course of investigations, five suspects were taken into custody and on questioning one Imtiyaz Ahmed (15) confessed to the crime," he said.
"The boy died on the spot and the accused had hidden the body under the grass in the forest," he said.
