Investigators suspected that a 26-year-old barman, who was hacked to death and his dismembered body stuffed inside a fridge in south Delhi's Saidulajab, was killed over an extra-marital affair, police said today.
Police said body parts of Vipin Joshi, a resident of Uttarakhand, were found stuffed inside a fridge yesterday.
He had been missing for a couple of days, police said, adding that his family members had, in search of him, reached his friend Badal Mandal's house here.
Though the house was locked, they were alarmed by a nauseating stench coming from the building, after which they called the police.
The police broke into the house and found the victim's body parts inside the fridge.
Mandal is a resident of West Bengal and it is suspected that he fled the city after killing Joshi.
Joshi worked as a bartender at the restaurant where Mandal worked as a chef, the police said.
The accused suspected Joshi of trying to get close to his wife, they said, adding that the exact motive of the killing would be known after Mandal's arrest.
