Police team attacked in Faridabad; one held, several booked

A person has been arrested and case registered against several others for allegedly attacking a police team when it went to Mujhedi village in the district to probe a case of abuse against a woman.
A scuffle broke out yesterday when Satish and his family abused a woman with a casteist remark and threatened to kill her, ASI Raghuvir Singh of Sadar Ballabgarh Police station said.
Following the complaint by the woman, a case under relevant sections of IPC and SC/ST Act was registered against Satish, his wife Nirmala and son, he said.
When a police party led by Randhir Singh, In-charge of IMT Police Post, went to the village late last night to enquire about the incident, they were attacked by the family of the accused and some other people, police said, adding, they were also fired upon by Satish.

A case under relevant sections of the IPC and Arms Act has been registered against the accused in the attack case, Investigating Officer ASI Omprakash of Sadar Ballabgarh Police Station said.
One of the accused, Amit, involved in attacking police personnel, has been arrested, he said, adding, Satish is still absconding.
