Police to keep watch on social media for objectionable content

Uttar Pradesh Police will monitor the social media for any objectionable material posted there with an intent to spoil law and order condition in the state.
Besides blocking such inflammatory posts as per the law, complaints will also be lodged under the IT Act, IG (Law and Order) A Satish Ganesh said.
Help of social media users will also be sought by the police by making them as digital volunteers, he said.
Two social media laboratories, one in Meerut and the other in Lucknow have already been set up to monitor the situation,he added.
