The police here warned people against showing black flags when Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje's 'yatra' passes by tomorrow, but abruptly withdrew the printed warning a day later, local residents claimed.

Printed notices were allegedly handed out on Wednesday at some houses on the route to the venue of Raje's public meeting at Adarsh Stadium, as part of her Rajasthan Gaurav Yatra across the state.

According to the notice, a copy of which is with PTI, the residents were warned against going up to their rooftops to protest or to show black flags.

Local residents and the opposition Congress protested against the notices, which were then withdrawn.

The notices warned house owners of legal action if they allowed protests.

Local resident Surendra Gaur said the police team which had handed over the notice at his home returned on Thursday to take it back.
