Policeman kidnapped by suspected Maoists in Sukma district

A policeman was kidnapped by suspected Maoists in Chhattisgarh's insurgency-hit Sukma district today.
An assistant constable Peela Das was abducted from a vehicle plying in the restive Polampalli police station limits of the district, a senior police official told PTI.
The constable, recruited by the state police as auxiliary personnel, was returning to Polampalli, where he was posted, after a leave, the police official said.
"An armed Maoist group stopped his taxi before Polampalli in which the policeman was travelling from Dornapal and asked him to get down from the vehicle. The rebels took him alongwith them into the deep forest," the police official said.

Security forces have been rushed to comb the area but no communication has been received until now about his whereabouts, the police official said.
On July 14, four assistant constables were kidnapped by Maoists and killed the next day in neighbouring Bijapur district of the state.
