Policemen assault brick kiln workers, face probe

Two workers of a brick kiln were allegedly assaulted by policemen during an encroachment eviction drive in Chandausi of the district, after which an inquiry has been ordered by the Superintendent of Police.
The workers, Armaan and Rafeeq, were allegedly assaulted for unloading bricks at a disputed site by sub-inspector Sartaj Ali and other policemen in Chandausi town two days ago, SP Tehsildar Singh said.
An inquiry has been ordered after the incident came to light, he said.
Meanwhile, the brick kiln owner claimed that the workers had gone there only to unload bricks and they had nothing to do with encroachment.
