Policemen-drug dealers' link charge being probed: Goa CM

Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar informed the Assembly that allegations of policemen having links with drug peddlers in the State and the issue was being investigated.
"There are several allegations of police-drug peddler nexus and they are being investigated by the Government," he told the House.
He said the BJP-led Government is committed to curb drug menace in the tourist State, where a large quantity of narcotics was seized last year. "We are trying to curb drug menace and we will ensure that innocent is not punished."
In 2012, Goa had witnessed the arrest of 12 policemen for their alleged links with Israeli drug lord Yaniv Benaim alias Atala.
In a separate case, six policemen were arrested and later dismissed from service.
