The importance of autobiographies is to get direct narration of life, history, events and other aspects the writer has witnessed in his life, the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister said.
"This will provide the younger generation an opportunity to know about the life and political works of politicians. They can set the records straight by penning down their autobiographies," he said.
Autobiographies not only tell readers about the historic happenings, social order, educational environment, economic status, but also inform about the track record of the life and work of the author, he said.
On the occasion, he also recalled that 'Aatish-e-Chinar', the autobiography of late Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah has cleared so many aspects and answered so many questions about the political life of the 'Sher-e-Kashmir'.
Addressing the function, Mir Poonchi recalled his close relations with the Abdullah and Gandhi families and said both these families have rendered highest sacrifices for the state and the country.
