Elections to 10 municipal corporations, including the Mumbai and Thane civic body and 26 Zilla Parishads are to be held next month.
In the absence of any decision from the committee, the forthcoming state budget session, which begins in March, is likely to be conducted in conventional manner.
A government resolution issued today said the term of committee formed for paperless budget session has been extended till July 31. The committee will now have to submit its decision by then and it will be decided when and how to implement it.
The GR stated that committee was supposed to submit its report by December 2016, during the winter session. However, due to some key meetings at Central level, the committee could not hold sittings and hence no decision has been taken so far.
The committee comprises members from all political parties and many of them are now busy with their electoral commitments.
