The Election Commission announced that assembly elections in Delhi will be held on December 4 and the counting of votes will take place on December 8.
BJP said it decided in its meeting today that its election campaign will focus on specific issues of each constituency.
"The party is fully geared up for the assembly polls. The focus of the election campaign will be the issues specific to each of the 70 assembly constituencies, which will be raised by BJP through its door-to-door contact programme.
Congress, on the other hand, said the party will chose those candidates who are acceptable and familiar with their constituencies and would stand on the strength of the popular support of the people.
Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) president Jai Prakash Agarwal alleged BJP was trying to "misguide and confuse" the people of Delhi but voters will not get caught in the "game plan" of the opposition.
"People have seen the sea-change in the development works carried out in Delhi and Congress has worked hard to ensure that people of all castes, communities and religions prospered equally," he said.
