As many as 21 candidates are in fray after filing of nomination papers was completed yesterday.
Bahuguna held a meeting with East Godavari District Collector Neetu Prasad and various monitoring authorities and expressed satisfaction for the work done by them in the district in view of bye-elections.
He requested the authorities create a conducive atmosphere for smooth conducting of elections in the constituency.
He said for the first time voters' slips were being distributed to ease problems of voters.
Flying squads and static teams have seized Rs 1.64 crore cash and 7,000 litres of liquor from various persons till today, he said.
Superintendent of Police C M Trivikram Varma said the district administration has identified 44 polling stations as super-sensitive and 40 as sensitive and steps have been taken for peaceful polling.
Also, 3,000 cases have been booked on various persons till today. He said they had requested the government to provide 14 sections of CRPF and 73 sections of Armed Reserve police.
