Poll panel appoints observer general for Lok Sabha elections

The Election Commission has appointed S K Das as observer general for Chandrapur-Arni-Wani parliamentary elections, official sources said.
Das would be staying here until April 23, and take care of complaints during his stay at the guest house of Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) in Shakti Nagar.
He would also recieve visitors between 5 pm and 6 pm for those who wish to meet him in person.
Meanwhile, the District Returning Officer rejected six out of a total of 27 nomination forms during scrutiny, the sources said.
Nomination forms of Hasad Khan Pathan of Indian Union Muslim League, Vidyasagar Kasarlawar of Navsamaj Party, Rajesh Jangam of Ambedkar Samaj Party, Mahadeorao Dumbre of Republican Party of India (Khobragade), Ganesh Ramteke and Vijay Nagarale were rejected.
All of them had filed their nominations as independents.
