Poll related items seized from BJP leader's vehicle, driver

The driver of Saharanpur BJP MLA Rajeev Gumbar has been arrested after items related to election advertisements and a sword was allegedly found in Gumbar's vehicle during the ongoing checking campaign in poll-bound Uttar Pradesh to prevent use of money power to influence voters, police said.
They said that a sword and items related to poll advertisement was seized during checking as part of drives to impose Model Code of Conduct after which the driver was arrested.
When asked, the police denied the presence of the BJP MLA during the seizure, saying the person on the driving seat of the vehicle was arrested as he could not furnish proper documents.

However, Gumbar has denied the claims and said that the vehicle seized was not his.
