Poll seizure: Eight crore cash seized in Shamshabad

An Election Commission-appointed surveillance team today seized Rs 8 crore cash from a person who was travelling in a public vehicle in Shamshabad in poll-bound Andhra Pradesh.
The person was travelling in a city bus when a joint team of police and EC officials intercepted him with the huge amount of cash in the suburban area of the state capital.
The cash has been reported to the Income Tax department and officials said the person questioned about the source and destination of the cash.
Seventeen seats of the state will go to polls on April 30.
