The nomination filing will start with issuance of public notification on August 1 and the last date for filing nomations will be August 5, state election commissioner Ramlubhaya said.

Scrutiny of the nomination papers will be on August 6 and the last date for nomination withdrawal is August 8. Election symbol will be allotted on August 9, he said.
A total of 37.12 lakh voters are enrolled for the local bodies poll, the state EC said.

The commissioner said that EVMs will be used in the election for which 4,302 polling booths will be set up.
"Elaborate security arrangements will be in place for free and fair elections," he said.
It is for the first time that the candidates contesting panchayat elections in Rajasthan should now possess minimum educational qualifications and toilets in their homes, he said.
