Pollution control board serves notice to units flouting norms

Rajasthan Pollution Control board has started serving notices to industrial units all over the state which were operating illegally and flouting the stipulated norms.
"Close to 1,000 firms across the state have been issued notices during he last few days.
"The action is being taken in accordance with a recent judgement of National Green Tribunal," D N Pandey, Member Secretary of the Board, said today.
The ruling is related with action against the units which have no permission to operate.
"Though we have been issuing notices against such firms but after the ruling, officers have been directed to review the current situation and issue notices accordingly," he said.
"Units which do not have permission are being directed to make appropriate arrangements as per standard to contain pollution and to operate with proper arrangements. If a unit is not able to follow the direction, it will be closed," he said.
