The project is being implemented under the Coastal Disaster Risk Reduction programme of the Project Implementation Agency, utilising funds provided by the World Bank, a press release said.
The aim of the project is to convert the overhead low tension power line into underground cable system to help reduce risks and damage during natural calamities in villages.
The cable laying would cover around 50 km and nearly 1,510 power consumers of different categories would be benefited as a result.
