Puducherry Lt Governor Kiran Bedi on Friday paid tributes to the soldiers who fought in the Kargil war as the nation observed the 20th anniversary of the conflict.
Chief Minister V Narayanasamy, Speaker V P Sivakolundhu, Chief Secretary Ashwani Kumar and Director General of Police Sundari Nanda were among those who paid homage and observed silence for two minutes in memory of the soldiers who laid down their lives in the Kargil war.
The Chief Minister later told reporters the nation was indebted to all the bravehearts who made supreme sacrifice in the cause of the nation in the Kargil conflict.
"We remember the valour and grit of the soldiers," he said.
