Puducherry Lt Governor Kiran Bedi and Chief Minister V Narayanasamy on Tuesday extended greetings to the people of the union territory on the eve of Pongal festival.
In her message, Bedi said "Pongal is a testimony to our ancient culture embedding man with nature."
She also asserted that "conservation and preservation of nature was woven through rituals of worship, devotion and respect to the different forms of nature."
In a veiled reference to the alleged hindrances caused to his government by Bedi, he said the dawn of Pongal "will definitely remove all the hurdles and ensure good days of prosperity and development for the people of Puducherry."
