: The 34-year-old Pondicherry University has inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Universite Paris Est Cretteil (UPEC), France, for collaboration in academics and research.
Assistant registrar of the Pondicherry University K Mahesh said in a press release here Monday that the varsity was the first Indian partner of the UPEC.
Under the MoU signed recently, the two institutions would jointly exchange students, faculties and host events and programmes on research, the release said.
An eight-member delegation of the French university, led by its vice-president (international affairs) Laurent Thevenet and comprising director of international affairs Joanna Belo, among others, hoped that the MoU would further enhance the relationship between France and Puducherry, the release said.
Vice-Chancellor of Pondicherry University Gurmeet Singh said in the release that the MoU marked the role of international cooperation for a globally competent academic and research set-up in the university.
