: Students from Pondicherry University would be extended an opportunity of doing short term courses in Sichuan University in China.
The deputy director of Institute of South Asian Studies in Sichuan University professor Yang Wenwu, addressing the students of the Pondicherry University at a deliberation on 'research teaching and also exchange programmes of academics on Tuesday, said the students would be introduced to the courses.
Professor Wenwu had felt that by an MoU the productivity of the deliberations could be extended to students to do short-term semester programmes in China, a press release said.
This would also enable exchange of books and study materials, provide opportunities to scholars to participate in research-related conferences in the Chinese University.
Professor Wenwu requested the Vice-Chancellor of Pondicherry University Gurmeet Singh to send a delegation to the Sichuan University as part of cooperation between the two universities.
The Vice-Chancellor highlighted the importance and implication of having collaboration with foreign academic institutes. He promises the Pondicherry University's fullest cooperation to Sichuan University.
The release said that an interaction was held with the students by the visiting delegates. Assistant Professor of the Sichuan University Zeng Xiangyu addressed the students responding to several questions students raised during the interaction.
