Janardhan Poojary today criticised the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) for increasing the property tax under self-assessment scheme (SAS) by 15 per cent, terming it as a breach of people's trust.
Addressing reporters here, Poojary said the City Corporation had increased the property tax by 15 per cent.
The Congress government had promised that it would not hike the property tax for the next 5 years if they came to power andthe MCC was negating this, he said.
It was the chief minister's responsibility to keep up the promise, he said.
Protecting the interest of the partyshould be his priority, he said.
