During the course of the meeting, both called for a comprehensive partnership to work together to enhance economic, scientific and technological cooperation, an official spokesman said.
Comprehensive strategies were also discussed to promote peace, security and prosperity between the two countries, he said.
Expressing satisfaction at the mutual understanding between India and Portugal, both affirmed their strong commitment to further strengthen ties and build a forward- looking 21st century partnership based on the strong links of shared history, culture and people-to-people relations.
He also highlighted that India's target to produce 175 gigawatt (GW) of renewable energy by 2022 offered immense opportunities for mutually beneficial collaboration between India and Portugal.

Discussing various issues at length, Badnore said India enjoys mature bilateral relations and strong socio-cultural linkages with Portugal.
He said India's economic capability is growing at a faster pace as the country has enormous dynamism and business potential.
He added that there was a major scope to further expand economic and business cooperation in a wide range of fields like information technology, marketing of agriculture produce and sharing of educational tools and technologies, which can be of immense mutual benefit for the people on both sides.
