Positive global cues lift base metal prices

Tracking a firm global trend and pick up in demand from consuming industries, base metals prices rose by Rs 2 per kg at the non-ferrous metal market today.
Traders said sentiment bolstered after copper in Shanghai surged to its highest in more than two months, leading gains in industrial metals amid signs that the turmoil in China's financial markets is subsiding, easing concerns about growth in the world's biggest consumer.
Meanwhile, copper rose 0.6 per cent to USD 5,375 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange. The metal in Shanghai added 4.1 per cent to close at 41,140 yuan a tonne.
In the national capital, copper mixed scrap and nickel plate (4x4) were up by Rs 2 each to Rs 360 and Rs 911-916 per kg respectively.
Zinc ingot, lead ingot and lead imported were also traded higher by similar margin to Rs 106-112, Rs 98 and Rs 99 per kg respectively.

Zinc ingot Rs 106-112, Nickel plate (4x4) Rs 911-916, Gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, Copper mixed scrap Rs 360, Chadri deshi Rs 285.
Lead ingot Rs 98, Lead imported Rs 99, Aluminium ingots Rs 150, Aluminium sheet cutting Rs 151, Aluminium wire scrap Rs 153 and Aluminium utensils scrap Rs 150.
