"Kakababu will return in his own form, in his true self to explore the mountains very very soon. The Bengali audience, loyal readers of Kakababu and those having seen the film, won't have to wait for that long," Srijit said at the launch of the DVD of the film, which was shot in the midst of the bloody strifes and skirmishes in Cairo and its outskirts.
"After Feluda and Byomkesh Kakababu will be the youngest franchise. And having someone like Bumbada in the pivotal role, a personality who has witnessed the turnaround of Bengali cinema in past two decades, the next Kakabu films will bear the same hallmark of out cast and crew in the backdrop of contemporary times," Srijit said.
"Writer Sunil Gangopadhyay had one regret. His immortal character, so popular among the young and adults alike, did not get his due respect like other such fictional characters. Our endeavour will be to give Kakababu his rightful place even though Sunilda can't see that," the Autograph maker said.
