Post retirement,Thomas Mathew to continue as Addl Secy to Prez

Senior IAS officer Thomas Mathew will continue to work post his retirement as Additional Secretary to President Pranab Mukherjee till July next year, when the latter's tenure comes to an end.
Mathew, a 1983 batch IAS officer of Kerala cadre, was due to retire this month end.
The Appointments Committee of Cabinet has approved the proposal for continuation of Mathew in his current post after his superannuation for a period coterminous with President's tenure which ends on July 24, 2017. It will be a contractual employment, an order issued by Department of Personnel and Training said.
The terms and conditions of the contract shall be conveyed in due course, it said.
