"Women are usually much stronger than men. It is a beautiful feeling to be feted on another platform when someone acknowledges your hard work," Poulami told PTI at the Kingfisher Ultra Bengal Fashion Week show here.
"I don't get to attend fashion shows all the time as I travel a lot for sporting events. And I enjoyed the whole experience,," the multiple national championship winner, having represented the country several times globally, said.
Poulami, who donned a red colour printed double-layered georgette, said, "It is nice when people appreciate you on a different field for your attire and act and when femininity and resilience of women are celebrated in any forum."
"Poulami, West Bengal Minister Sashi Panja and heroin Rituparna Sengupta are my three women of substance for this show representing divergent backgrounds of achiever-multitaskers. I want to change the cliche concept of introducing only people from showbiz in such shows," Agnimitra said.
The celebrated fashion designer, having designed outfits ranging from Sridevi, Esha Deol to Shonal Rawat, said "I believe in blending the ethnic with western from Madhubani to Baluchari and to don the women of substance I have sourced from four basic textiles.
