Power calls DAV BSEB Principal to discuss eviction issue

With damocles sword still hanging over the head of a prominent city school due to eviction notice served by state Power Board, the board has called the school Principal on Monday for discussion.
"I have called Principal of DAV BSEB on Monday to talk over eviction notice we had served to the school in the past," Rajiv Ranjan, General Manager Human Resources of Bihar State Power Holding Company Limited (BSPHCL), told PTI today.
BSPHCL has provided land and the building to the DAV to run the school.
V S Ojha, Principal of DAV BSEB, known for excellent performance in academics as well as in sports in recent past, made a plea to the power board to continue running of the school after continuation of affiliation by CBSE which had terminated it last year in the wake of a controversy involving a girl student.
"We have plugged loopholes pointed out by CBSE," he said citing restoration letter of affiliation issed by the CBSE till 2019 when it would again come up for renewable.
"The power board should also keep a close watch over future running of the school as per laid down guidelines," Ojha said making a pitch to the power board to take back eviction notice for the sake of future of thousands of students, majority of whom are wards of powermen.

Thousands of students and their parents had heaved a sigh of relief after CBSE restored affiliation to the school on Wednesday last in the wake of a controversy last year involving a girl student.
Manohar Singh, Ramnath Prasad and Rakesh Kumar, some worried parents whose wards are in DAV BSEB school also made a humble request to power board to reconsider its eviction notice to the school after CBSE has given it affiliation back.
Before restoration of affiliation letter landed in the school, uncertainity had threatened career of students as the CBSE had directed the school not to give registration to the students for class IXth and XIth as it would have made them eligible to appear in the board and XII examinations in 2018.
Trouble had hit the premier school of the city after a +2 student went missing on February 28, 2015. She surfaced three weeks later on March 19 and during questioning by the police, she revealed that she was deliberately failed in Class XI examination.
Police had arrested three teachers of the school in this connection and the school Principal Ramanuj Prasad was suspended by the DAV management.
In the wake of the episode, CBSE ordered de-affiliation of the school through a letter on May 19, 2015.
