According to a senior official, the Haryana Power Purchase Centre (HPPC) has made adequate arrangements of power supply during the ongoing summer and forthcoming paddy season.
Haryana's Principal Secretary (Power) and Chairman, Haryana Power Utilities, Devender Singh said that the HPPC has made arrangements for adequate availability of power in the State.
He said arrangement has been made to supply electricity for 22 to 24 hours a day to the industries and urban domestic consumers and for 14 hours to the rural domestic consumers.
He said that power arrangements have been made to meet the requirement during summer and paddy season considering the load growth in the average demand as compared to last year.

As per the projected demand, the State will have surplus power from May to September this year, Singh said.
"Due to better management, the power distribution companies will not be required to purchase electricity on short term basis. The arrangements made are much higher than the projected demand in the months of May, June, July, August and September, 2014," he said.
Singh further said that as per load demand projection, about 5,800 to 6,000 megawatt power is required during the month of May, against which availability will be 7,800-8,000 MW.
"During the first fortnight of June, the projected requirement will be 6,000-6,200 MW against which the availability will be from 8,000-8,200 MW. During the second fortnight of June, the projected demand will be from 7,300- 7,500 MW and the availability will be 9,100-9,300 MW".
He said that in the months of July, August and September, the projected requirement of electricity will be 7,590 MW, 6,600 MW and 6,640 MW respectively. The HPPC has already arranged 9,500 MW, 9,300 MW and 8,400 MW power for these months.
"These states will return power to Haryana to the tune of 50 MW to 1500 MW during summer and paddy season as per agreement," he added.
