The ongoing power crisis, a no-confidence motion and the separate Telangana issue are expected to rattle the Congress government in Andhra Pradesh during the Budget session of the Legislative Assembly beginning tomorrow.
The session gets underway tomorrow with the customary address of Governor E S L Narasimhan to the joint sitting of Assembly and Legislative Council.
Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has announced that it would move a no-confidence motion against the Congress government for not accepting the separate statehood demand despite making a promise to the effect.
Significantly, YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) MP M Rajamohan Reddy said his party would support no-confidence motion whoever moves it.
Both TRS and YSRCP have 17 MLAs each in the 294-member house. The strength of combined opposition, including TDP (84), comes to 136, while Congress has 155 MLAs.
However, eight Congress MLAs have rebelled against the party and four of them have submitted resignations to the Speaker. Similarly, seven TDP MLAs have switched loyalty to either TRS or YSRCP in recent times.
