The incident took place when head cashier of power department Umesh Kumar, Pawan Sharma - a temporary staff of the department and five other employees, were going to deposit the money in a bank, they said.
According to police, four persons attacked the power department team, and when Pawan tried to resist the robbery bid they fired a bullet at him and escaped with the bag containing the money.
Sharma has been admitted to a private hospital, police said.
