"Three electricity department employees and the driver of their vehicle were returning with three bags containing over Rs 1 crore when some unidentified persons in a jeep opened fire at them in an isolated area and fled with two bags with over Rs 70 lakh in those," IG Bikaner Girraj Meena said.
"The money robbed was collected against electricity bills from the villages. It was the first time that the employees were carrying such a huge sum of money," he said.
"It appears that the accused are locals," Meena said, adding, hunt was on to nab the robbers.
