Power discom TPDDL finalises deal for 1,000 MU of clean energy

In an effort to encourage clean energy, power discom TPDDL has finalised a deal for 1,000 MU of renewable energy to be supplied in Delhi in the coming 20 years.
According to Tata Power Delhi Distribution (TPDDL), it has tied up for 6 MW of wastes energy power supplying 37 MUs at a levelised tariff of Rs 5.921 per unit for 20 years in the national capital.
The company has also tied up for 107.5 MW of small hydro power from 6 projects supplying 446 MUs at a levelised tariffs of Rs 5.57 per unit for 20 years from Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
"TPDDL has also tied up for solar power to the tune of 240 MW from 8 projects supplying 497 MUs at a levelised tariff of Rs 5.93 per unit to Rs 6.28 per unit for 20 years which is one of the best tariff rates offered for solar power till date," an official of the TPDDL said.
"With the finalisation, the company besides promoting clean energy would also be able to meet the Renewable Power Obligations (RPO) of Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC)," he said.
