Power generation from the second unit of Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant (KKNPP) has been suspended to take up maintenance work, a KKNPP official said Saturday.
"Power generation at Unit-II has not been stopped due to any valve breakdown as stated in the news. This was a planned outage," KKNPP Senior Manager, HR-Press Relations, J Devaprakash said.
The official was responding to reports that appeared in a section of media about unit II being shut due to a "valve malfunction".
In a press release, he said the maintenance work was expected to be completed in a "couple of days."
