A review of the performance of the Ministry of Coal is listed on the agenda, the source also said. The issues related to coal supplies are significant in view of the recent spurt in price of electricity at the power exchange to over Rs 10 per unit as a number of captive users jostled to buy power.
Modi had launched the Saubhagya scheme (Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana) in September to achieve 100 per cent electrification of households by December 2018.
