Only 11 units out of 19 units are working at the four thermal power stations, which have reduced the power production to nearly 2,900 MW, the additional chief engineer of Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam, Kajod Lal Meena, told PTI.
"Coal supply has improved in last one week but stocks at power plants are not enough for running the full capacity," the official said, adding that power production in the state is grim for last 12 days.
The situation improved on Tuesday with 13 rakes of coal being received at thermal power plants, he added.
According to the Rajasthan Power Development Corporation, out of a total capacity of 1500 MW of power at Suratgarh thermal power station, only 750 MW of power is being produced now while 1240 MW Kota super critical thermal power station is generating only 800 MW.
Three units out of six units are operational at Suratgarh plant; four out of seven units are operational at Kota, three out of four at Chhabra and one of the two units at Kali Sindhi thermal power plants.
