The increase varies across different categories of consumers. The revised tariff will come into effect for the electricity consumed from the first meter reading date today.

According to a KERC statement, the 13 paise per unit average increase is against the 73 paise hike sought by the ESCOMs uniformly for all categories of consumers other than IP set users and Bhagya Jyothi and Kuteer Jyothi beneficiaries.

The lowest tariff increase of 10 paise per unit is approved for domestic consumers.

Of the 195 lakh consumers in the state, increase in tariff of 10 paise per unit is allowed for 141.52 lakh consumers, including domestic ones in both urban and rural areas and farmers with IP sets of more than 10 HP.

Increase in tariff of 20 paise per unit has been ordered for about 24 lakh consumers, including industries and commercial installations.

KERC has reduced tariff by 50 paise per unit for LT water supply installations in urban and rural areas. Further, the Commission has not increased tariff for HT water supply installations. PTI RS MSR APR
