The People's Party of Arunachal today criticised the state government's plan to amalgamate the Tomo Riba State Hospital with the upcoming Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences, saying it was a matter of serious concern.

PPA general secretary Kaling Jerang said the transition of the state hospital to a health and medical sciences institute "does not seem to be in order and in harmony" with the careers of 487 hospital employees.

"The (state) government's decision without having any distinct policy to absorb the already-serving employees in the hospital, was a matter of serious concern," he said in a statement.

Stating that the entire issue does not appear to be transparent, Jerang said, "It seems the society planning to run and administer the TRIHMS is only concerned about getting the nod of the Medical Council of India to start the institute, thus putting all other concerns under the carpet."
