Manpreet Singh Badal has said that his party will contest from Moga constituency in the forthcoming byelection.
The Moga seat fell vacant after the Congress MLA Joginder Pal Jain resigned and joined SAD (Badal).
Badal, while addressing party workers here yesterday, said that PPP will fight the by-poll.
He asked cadres to be ready "to give befitting reply" to Congress and SAD.
"It is unfortunate that Punjab completely failed in giving good leadership and good governance, which caused a vacuum in political leadership," he said.
Badal, estranged nephew of Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, also criticised SAD-BJP government in the state, saying the state was facing severe law and order problem.
The PPP chief cited some recent incidents, including that of Amritsar where an ASI was shot dead allegedly by ruling party workers and Ludhiana incident, where a senior police officer got his leg fractured in a brawl.
