Rajpura to Bathinda is part of Rajpura Bathinda - Sriganganagar section of Ambala Division.

Completion of the Doubling work of this 172 km long section being built at an estimated cost of Rs 1251.25 crore shall facilitate uninterrupted and smooth traffic operation as double line from Rajpura to Bathinda, an official release said here.

He said that the issue was under consideration with some states and would be finalised soon.
Prabhu also said that fastest train under Superfast category was also being unveiled.
This train would run at 200 kilometre per hour speed.
He also announced that Tejas and Humsafar trains would also be launched in the country, which will be of world class standards.
He said that these world class trains would also touch Punjab through different routes.
UDAY train will also be launched in the country, which will start in the night and reach the destination early morning.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi led NDA government had increased this budget to Rs 700 crore by fixing annual increase.
Prabhu also announced to make Amritsar and Jalandhar Railway Stations world class by giving these stations a complete facelift.
He said the work on Jalandhar's railway station would be completed by the end of 2017 while the Amritsar project was being finalised in consultation with the Union Tourism Ministry.
