Pramod Bhasin, Vikram Gandhi to invest in Unitus Seed Fund

Founder and former CEO of BPO major Genpact Pramod Bhasin and Vikram Gandhi, former Vice-Chairman of Credit Suisse, have announced a joint investment in Bangalore-based Unitus Seed Fund.
Unitus is a venture seed fund supporting startups prepare for growth via seed funding, strategic and operating support, providing critical connections and securing growth capital.
As part of this, Gandhi and Bhasin have formed a 'Virtual Fund' focussed on social enterprises.
"Through our investment in Unitus Seed Fund, we look forward to using our experience and expertise to empower ground-level enterprises built around business models that are scalable and can positively impact lives of the low-income masses," Bhasin said.
Over the last three years, Unitus Seed Fund has raised over USD 20 million in both its offshore and India fund. It has announced 16 investments in India including Milaap (online micro-lending platform), Caravan Craft (single brand retailer sourcing handcrafted artisan products), m-Gaadi ('Uber' for auto-risckshaws) and Hippocampus (a rural education services company).
