Acharya Pramod Krishnan, who led a team of saints to look into the Kairana "exodus" episode, has lodged a police complaint alleging a BJP worker threatened to kill him if he had "spoken against Hindus and favoured Muslims in his report" submitted to the government.
In his complaint lodged at the Kotwali Police Station, Krishnan alleged he received a call last night from a caller introducing himself as Ajay Yadav of Yogi Adityanath brigade and threatened to kill him when he was on his way to Ghaziabad from Lucknow after handing over "exodus" report to the government.
A case against the caller has been registered and police are probing the matter, SP(City) Salman Taj Patil said.
A five-member team of saints comprising Krishnan, Swami Kalyan, Naraina Giri, Swami Chinmayanand and Swamy Chakrapani was constituted by ruling Samajwadi Party to look into the "exodus" episode.
The delegation, led by Krishnan, submitted its report to Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik yesterday.
Earlier, a copy of the report was also presented to Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.
